More about me…
I have been a book designer and art director in the publishing industry, I have a degree in Graphic Design, I’ve taught art classes, painted murals, illustrated books, been a color consultant to help choose colors for homes, and raised four fabulous (now adult) kids, with my loving husband.
The summer I was 17, I got to take the train to Manhattan twice a week from my nearby town, for a life drawing class. I was passionate about art, and my parents were supportive of me having an adventure. There were nude models, which seemed weird to me for a minute, but then the instructor explained that it was just about capturing the beauty of the lines and shapes of the body, and it didn’t matter if it was an elbow or a table or a butt, they all had lines and shapes.
I am still captivated by the lines and shapes of the body. And I like making art for particular people, and connecting in person rather than working alone in a studio. Helping people express themselves visually feels natural to me, with my background in graphic design.
I am generally booked weekends with my thriving face painting business, where I get to share delight with little kids, which I also really love!
